Fetal hydrops in a newborn with hypoplastic left heart syndrome: tricuspid valve "stopper".
نویسندگان
چکیده
Fetal hydrops in a newborn infant with hypoplastic left heart syndrome led to the discovery of tricuspid stenosis and insufficiency from an unusual malformation of the right venous valve of the embryonic sinus venosus. This unfortunate combination of lesions precluded surgical palliation for the hypoplastic left heart.

Double-outlet of Right Ventricle of Recipient Fetus in Severe Mid-trimester Twin–Twin Transfusion Syndrome
A 37 years old Thai pregnant woman with MCDA twins, para 1, was suspected of severe twin-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) at 21 weeks’ of gestation. Quintero staging was applied in this cases. Neither of the fetuses exhibited signs of hydrops. Abnormal four-chamber view was demonstrated in a recipient fetus. Two-dimensional and color Doppler showed complex cardiac malformations which include (1...
متن کاملReal-time 3-dimensional echocardiography provides new insight into mechanisms of tricuspid valve regurgitation in patients with hypoplastic left heart syndrome.
BACKGROUND Tricuspid regurgitation in hypoplastic left heart syndrome has an impact on outcome, but its mechanisms remain unclear. METHODS AND RESULTS Real-time 3-dimensional echocardiography was performed in 35 patients with hypoplastic left heart syndrome (age, 1 month to 10 years; 10 after first-stage Norwood, 12 after superior cavopulmonary shunt, 13 after Fontan). From the 3-dimensional ...
متن کاملMassive Myocardial Infarction in a Full-Term Newborn: A Case Report
A full-term female newborn with neonatal asphyxia and severe anemia (Hb 2.5 g/dL) with normal heart developed a massive myocardial infarction. No examinations were performed during pregnancy for parental nomadism. The baby had immediate external cardiac massage, ventilatory assistance, and blood transfusion. Cardiomegaly was evident at chest X-ray and marked signs of ischemia-lesion at ECG. Ech...
متن کاملRight sided heart evaluation after successful mitral valve replacement.
Introduction: It is well-documented that right-sided heart dysfunction and significant tricuspid valve regurgitation (TVR) have adverse effects on patient outcomes after left-sided heart valve surgery. Therefore, the evaluation of right ventriclular (RV) function and TR severity in patients who had undergone mitral valve replacement (MVR), associated with/without concomitant su...
متن کاملEchocardiography in the diagnosis of hypoplasia of the left or right ventricles in the neonate.
SUMMARY Echocardiographic studies were performed on six patients with autopsy-proved aortic atresia and hypoplastic left ventricle and two patients with surgically proved tricuspid atresia and hypoplastic right ventricle. The findings were compared to those from the echograms of 50 normal newborns who served as a control group. The ultrasound measurements obtained in the normal newborns were as...
